THE SOUL SUITE DJ's - MIKE HUGHES

MIke was bought up on Soul and Motown music from his father who was also a DJ and he always wanted to follow in his footsteps.

He had my first pro job working for a Wolverhampton radio station back in 1987 called Beacon Radio and from there went to live in Ibiza for 2 years during the summer seasons and found himself working with the Four Tops.

Ive worked on the soul scene mainly in the midlands area and at the Top of the World in Stafford which was a huge venue for soul.

Since moving to Blackpool he has worked in many venues in and around the town and Mike thinks the Blackpool night life has to be the best there is.

Mikes other jobs were turning pro as a footballer when he was just 15 signing for Walsall as a school boy and moving to Wolves, Port Vale and then Leicester City. Due to an illness he had to retire in 1992 and since then has coached many several local sides

He recently took over the club Wyre FC who will soon be playing semi- pro level.
